Apart from a very slight disparity in wattage, and the obvious visual change, the only difference that we can find between this model and the BM260 is the addition of a viewing window on the BM366.

As this model will usually come in about £20 more expensive than the BM260, the value has to come in how much you want a super sleek brushed stainless steel finish as the thought of anyone paying £20 to be able to watch their bread cook seems a little more than insane!

Furthermore, the eco option is also not going to be something that should sell this product. Though the 85 minutes it takes to bake the bread on this program reduces the amount of electricity used, choosing a breadmaker that offers a fast bake option that takes less than an hour would be far more efficient.

Quality Bread

But the BM366 holds its own where it counts, in the quality of the bread it bakes. Though it does prepare dough, jams, cakes and pizzas really well, it is the smooth, tasty bread that wins the hearts of bread makers everywhere.

The patented 'Thermafan' technology is said to ensure that the bread cooks consistently and evenly, which means the end result is fluffy and light, and we couldn't agree more. It has a lovely texture, a great smell and the same consistent outcome no matter how many times you use it.

As with all Kenwood breadmakers, this model is going to be slightly noisier than alternative manufacturers, but as long as you are not trying to sleep in the same room as your bread machine, you probably won't even notice. And besides, if it does keep you up at night, you can always put the time to good use, fingering through the beautiful 'premium' recipe book that comes with this model - it will get you dreaming of freshly baked goodies in no time.

As with the BM260 from Kenwood, this breadmaker offers 11 preset programs which cover all the bread, sweet bread, gluten free and European recipes that you would expect. But there are still a further five personal programs so that you can explore bread making for yourself. Don't worry if you think you would never be able to make use of this facility, it's amazing how quickly you start to understand the process. This is a simple, easy to use breadmaker that can have you producing beautifully fresh bread in no time. Take advantage of the 15 hour delay option to time your bread to perfection and then use the 1 hour stay warm function when you need a little leeway. As with the BM260, the Kenwood BM366 would benefit from an automatic seed dispenser, but with all the added value that this bread maker provides, it simply wouldn't be possible to keep going without dramatically increasing the price.
